Fiji Airways Business Class lounges

Fiji Airways Lounge Nadi
Fiji Airways Business Lounge
News: Fiji Airways have combined the Nadi Tabua Club Lounge and the Fiji Airways business class lounge. They are both the same room, and both in the basement.

There is a grand total of all of one lounge on the Fiji Airways network. It is at Nadi.

At other airports, contract lounges are used - generally the Qantas Club, given Fiji Airways' heritage as being owned half by Qantas.

Abandon any hope you have of a luxurious new airport lounge at the Nadi hub. The Fiji Airways Business Class Lounge and Tabua Club - and indeed the Fiji Qantasclub Nadi - are one and the same thing, and still remain the old Air Pacific lounge. It's in the basement, and it's used by Fiji Airways staff as a sleeping pad to doss down during the day.

There used to be a clear distinction between the Fiji Airways premium business lounge (for business class), and the Nadi Tabua Club Lounge (for those who pay for membership, or who have status), which was also the old Nadi Qantasclub. Now, everyone is lumped in into the small main Fiji Airways lounge (with windows) on the right.

The Fiji Airways Business Class Lounge at Nadi Airport is straight after security, past the escalator, and head to the corner, to the left of the Nadi Air New Zealand Fiji Lounge. You need to be in Business Class, or the desk will sell you access at F$75 per day.

It is also the Tabua Club Lounge Nadi, with two thirds of the lounge being kept dark for Fiji Airways staff to sleep in. The Fiji Airways Nadi lounge is neither run by Qantas, nor is it the oneworld lounge in Nadi. The only access you'll get is if you are on both the Qantas Codeshare, and you have a Qantasclub membership or Gold or above status on QF. Oneworld have no access.

There are three main areas to the Air Fiji Tabua Club Lounge Nadi, to give it its full title. The separate Tabua Club Lounge is in the corridor to the left of the reception and bar area. The main area is beyond the desk overlooking the windows. Here there are several racks of seats win a red and white colour scheme, however as the lounge is in the basement, the view tends to be of the nosewheel of your plane.

At one end of the lounge is the newspaper rack, while at the other is a computer bench might be a better term for it. Opposite reception is the bar counter while the main food area is the big table right in the middle of the lounge. At the far end of this are the toilets and showers.

Food in the Fiji Airways lounge Nadi is eclectic, to the say the least. At breakfast time for the main flight to Sydney there is toast and cereal. This all vanishes at 9am when the flight to Sydney leaves, and then there is nothing by muffins until 11am when lunch is sserved.

Lunch is typically suchi, on three trays, with fish, meat, and veggie suchi in rolls of rice. At other times there are sandwiches. There are always a few packets of biscuits left out, and if you are lucky, there is some cheese in the fridge.

The bar in the Nadi Fiji Airways lounge is basic, to say the least. There is one bar opposite reception, with six bottles of spirits on the bookshelf. There is another one in the room to the left, but other than a gigantic bottle of Gin and Cognac there is nothing here. Mixers are in the fridge.

There is Fiji Gold Beer and Fiji Bitter in cans in the fridge. There is also one bottle of white and one bottle of sparkling in the fridge, but drink it quick as there is just one bottle left out per flight. There is no red.

There is free wifi in the Fiji Airways lounge Nadi. It is surprisingly fast. There is a very basic computer centre too, with just two old slow computers, using IE7, at the end of the main lounge. There is a very basic newspaper rack at the end of the main lounge.

The bathrooms in the Fiji Airways Nadi lounge are decidedly basic. There is just one stall in the ladies and gents on the main lounge side, and the same on the normally closed side. However both sides have a vast shower area, with just one shower, but with a full set of shampoo and shower gel. Alas there are no towels.

Fiji Airways Sydney - SYD - Business Class lounge

The Sydney Fiji Airways Lounge is the Qantasclub - or rather the International Qantas Business Lounge. To find the lounge, once through security walk up the stairs beside the change counter next to the Oyster bar, then left all the way along the balcony.

The lounge itself is very long and narrow, split up by screens made out of wooden slats. The view is however spectacular throughout most of the lounge, with amazing views of the runways and even distant views of Sydney’s CBD. The entrance in the middle of the lounge, which extends long and thin to the left and right, while right in front of you is the bar area with nibbles and multiple wine coolers. As you go left there is plenty of seating against the windows, and small triangular shaped areas that are the food area, another bar, yet more seats, and at the end a family area, with a kids playroom. This is a quiet area, and where you can find five loungers if you want a sleep. If you walk the other way there is a coffee bar, another bar, and finally computers at the far end.

The food offerings are good, with several hot options generally including curry and chicken done various different ways. There is also a very good salad selection many different types of dips and spreads. There is also dessert, with chocolate brownies and cheesecake, and a new gelato station, right opposite the main entrance.

The bar is equally good, with three whites in coolers in the table top plus a sparkling, while reds are on the table top. On draft there is cider (Magners), along with Cascade and Stella Artois, while in the fridge are bottles of beer (VB & Tooeys).

There are very good Business facilities - on the extreme right hand side of the lounge there are ten iMac computers that run both Mac OS and Windows, with decent laminated instructions at each computer incase you’ve never used a Mac before. The computers are very fast. There is a magazine rack next to one of the triangles, with the SMH, Australian and Financial Review, but with a poor selection of magazines.

Finally, there are showers in the recently remodelled bathrooms, which are great.

Hong Kong Fiji Airways Lounge
The Fiji Airways Hong Kong Business Class lounge is the Plaza Premium Lounge West Hall. Airside it has a great view, a vast food choice, two bars, three main seating areas, and it's absolutely brand new.

The Fiji Airways Hong Kong Business Class lounge is divided into several zones; each one really is quite different, with defined purposes and styles for relaxing, dining or working. From the main desk the vast bulk of the lounge is on the left going towards a point, with the food court in the middle, and a separate small lounge connected via corridor on the balcony, which has its own entrance – the main entrance that is normally closed.

On the left, as you curve to the right (if you follow) this is the area that is normally roped off for Fiji Airways. Here there is the Hub Bar which is the central pointy shaped bar, and beyond the long island food station. This is in a triangular shape, with a peak at the far end overlooking the similar peak of the United lounge opposite.

The main food experience in the Plaza lounge Hong Kong is the Market Place food court, with three food stalls– including the Tea House, Noodle Dom and the salad bar, with some decent salads.

The bar is a bit more basic, with one solitary beer tap serving draft Carlsberg in the food court. There is also one type of white wine in the fridge.
