Singapore Airlines A380

Singapore Airlines are to use the new A380 from Zurich to Singapore from next March. Zurich will be the third city in Europe and the seventh in Singapore Airlines’ network to receive the A380.

Some passengers may be unhappy that instead of the current two flights a day on most days, there will be only one. Daily Airbus A380 Superjumbo services between Singapore and Zurich will replace the existing 12 flights a week between the two cities, which are operated with smaller Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. SQ346 will depart Singapore Changi Airport at 0110, arriving in Zurich at 0800. On the return leg, SQ345 will depart Zurich at midday and touch down in Singapore at 0605 the next day.
Singapore Airlines A380 First Class Seat

The Airline started operating the superjumbo in October 2007 to Sydney and subsequently added services to London, Tokyo, Paris, Hong Kong and Melbourne.

When Airreview reported from Toulouse on the launch of Singapore Airlines A380 in 2007, we were impressed by SIA's new First Class, which has suites with sliding doors, leather seats, and full-sized beds.

In Business Class there is a 34-inch wide seat, with a 1+2+1 layout on the upper deck. Each seat has direct aisle access and can be converted into a wide bed by folding down the seat back. Some passengers have commented that the seat feels "too wide", and now inflight the crew offer extra cushions to pad out the seat.

Economy Class customers get all-new seats with non-intrusive reading lights and height-adjustable leather headrests with side panels.

Singapore Airlines’ customers across all three classes can also enjoy the newest version of KrisWorld, Singapore Airlines’ inflight entertainment system. Suites are fitted with 23-inch screens, Business Class seats feature 15.4-inch screens and Economy Class 10.6-inch screens.

Singapore Airlines currently has ten A380s in service, a further nine on firm order and options on six more.
